Spoilers!

News

Via EW:

There’s so much to look forward to on this season of The Vampire Diaries. Elena’s 18th birthday, bad Stefan, and soapy Damon. But when prompted for his outlook for the season, Joseph Morgan says he’s most excited to meet Klaus’ family. “We get a chance to go back and see the point where they became vampires and where the curse was placed on Klaus to suppress his hybrid nature, his hybrid side,” he told a roundtable. “It’ll be interesting when we introduce other originals who are possibly equally as powerful or have some sort of emotional hold over Klaus … to see what that brings out of him.”

Question: Do you have any new Vampire Diaries scoop? —Samantha

Ausiello: Buffy the Vampire Slayer is set to guest on the show!!!! Well, OK, not so much Buffy. But a vampire slayer, at least. The incoming character, named Eric (a nod to True Blood’s sexiest fanger?), is a middle-aged hottie who, from what I hear, is sorta like Indiana Jones with a stake instead of a whip. In possibly related news, check out what EP Julie Plec told us at Comic-Con when asked her if there were plans to introduce a baddie bigger than Klaus this season. “I would definitely say that Klaus isn’t the worst baddie that we’ve seen so far. It will be fun to see who’s going to steal his thunder eventually as we get deep into Season 3.” Hmm…

How will Bonnie react to the fact that two of Jeremy’s ex-girlfriends are back in the picture on Vampire Diaries? —Leslie

ADAM: Your question assumes that Bonnie will find out about this spectral love square, which executive producer Julie Plec tells us may not be the case. “We’re going to see Jeremy working very hard to keep the secret from Bonnie,” she says. Our guess is that Anna and Vicki will still be sure to make their presence felt. The lesson here: Even if the other women are dead, it’s always best to be a one-woman man.

Chelsea in Hershey, Pa.: Dying without The Vampire Diaries every week! I need some scoop. Stat!

We feel you, girl. We’re also hurting from the summer hiatus, but here’s a bit of good news. We won’t have to wait another fifteen-bajillion episodes for a certain hybrid to grace our television screen yet again. Meaning Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will not be away for long. He’s going to be all up in our faces right from the beginning of season three. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that sexy man being up in our faces, right?

Julie Plec gives TV Guide some spoilers.

Here is an excerpt:

When and why did you decide to bring back Anna (Malese Jow) and Vicki (Kayla Ewell)?

Julie Plec: Early on in the season, we started talking about how much fun it would be to bring favorite characters back. When we started thinking about where we were taking Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) over the course of this season and where we were going to end him, we thought of the idea of him seeing people from his past as a result of being brought back to life. The decision to bring Vicki back was instantaneous because Kayla was so well loved and it was devastating to say goodbye. Anna was such a fan favorite, and so we had the opportunity to take a character that the audience was outraged that we had the audacity to kill and give her another story. And it’s just the beginning.

I can’t wait for The Vampire Diaries to come back! Teases! Hints! Anything you can say? — Mel

I’m betting I’ll have more to say after Comic-Con next week, and feel free to submit your questions in case I find some incredibly informed people who might be able to answer them. (I will.) Until then, imagine the meanest, drunkest Stefan you’ve ever seen. Can’t? Well, you’ll be seeing him soon.

What’s the scoop on The Vampire Diaries? — Grace

NATALIE: We’ll flash-back to the speakeasies of Prohibition-era Chicago early on in Season 3, where we’ll meet a vampire from Stefan’s past who will head to present-day Mystic Falls in hopes of rekindling an old flame. If a Facebook relationship status existed that said “Currently Stalking Someone,” that’s what hers would say… but about Caroline!

Spoiler via TV Line:

Question: Can you share anything else about the Vampire Diaries premiere? What does Damon get Elena for her birthday? —Will
Ausiello:
Um, nothing. This is Vampire Diaries. Don’t count on there being any cake and goody bags, if you catch my drift. Besides, Elena isn’t really in the partying mood. She’s got more important things on her mind.

Tyler and Caroline Spoilers

News

Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson give EW some scoop on Caroline and Tyler.

Check it all out here.

Here is an excerpt:

The Elena-Stefan-Damon triangle isn’t the only epic love story on The Vampire Diaries. Executive producer Kevin Williamson tells EW the renewed friendship between Caroline and Tyler is “building to be a fun, romantic Romeo and Juliet” in season 3, which premieres Sept. 15 on The CW. “We now have a mother who knows her daughter’s a vampire, and we might soon have a mayor who figures out that her son is a werewolf,” Williamson says. “When that happens, it’s certainly building itself to a family feud. That’s the fun Mystic Falls storyline that’s underplaying throughout the entire season.” Adds EP Julie Plec, “When their mothers find out the truth about each of them, they’re gonna have a say in whether the two of them should be together. There’s always going to be push and pull in their friendship as it travels down a romantic road. There’s gonna be people who don’t want them together, including themselves. It’s that forbidden love: we can’t quite stay away from each other, and yet, we shouldn’t be together. And the question will be at what point will they act on that and how will that go?”

Spoiler via E! Online:

McKenna: The Vampire Diaries!

Imagine Velma Kelly from the musical Chicago (“he had it coming!”) as a vampire, and you’ll have a pretty good picture of new character Becky. She’s a key figure from Stefan’s past, and she’s enrolled at Mystic Falls High to put herself in his path, reclaim his love and eliminate her rivals. She’s going to be particularly mean to poor Caroline, but we’re hoping Caroline surprises us with some newly discovered reserves of strength and shows Becky who’s boss.
