Anything juicy on Ripper Stefan on The Vampire Diaries? Thanks! — Val, via Twitter

NATALIE: Juicy is a choice word, Val. Stefan will be sinking his teeth into many humans. “He gets deeper and deeper and the blood starts carrying him away,” Paul Wesley tells us. “He commits to that lifestyle because the blood starts turning him into someone else.” What we want to know is, who’s going to bring him back?

Spoiler via TV Line:

Question: Do you have any scoop on whether Jack Coleman is playing Caroline’s dad on Vampire Diaries? —Elsa

Ausiello: That’s what I keep hearing, but I have no official confirmation of that. Makes perfect sense, right?

News

Spoilers via E! Online:

Harrison: Can. Not. Wait. For The Vampire Diaries to return. Can you tell us what’s up with Jeremy seeing the dead chicks? How long will they be on? And does this mean things are over with Bonnie?

Nothing like some “dead chicks” to really liven up the place, eh? I’m hearing some very good things about that storyline—It’s gonna be twisty and turny and cool. Also hearing Malese Jow (Anna) and Kayla Ewell (Vicki) will be in about a handful of episodes (somewhere around six) and they will be recurring throughout the season. So you’ll get some fun “dead chick” splashes there for a while, but they won’t be around enough to muck things up with Bonnie. Win-win-win.

Mystic Falls Survival Guide

News

Wetpaint has made a Mystic Falls Survival Guide.

Head on over to Wetpaint to check it out.

Below is an excerpt:

Don’t travel alone at night, even by car

Basically, just don’t travel anywhere after dark, unless you’re trained in many deadly arts. (Especially, and we can’t emphasize this enough, during full moons.) It’s not that the crime rate is high here; there just happen to be a lot of vicious, wild animals who aren’t afraid of humans and who seem to wander freely about town. The Founder’s Council is of course looking into the matter, and we are always on the lookout for volunteers to patrol the forest.

Sean in Van Nuys, Calif.: What’s going on with my favorite Vampire Diaries couple, Bonnie and Jeremy?

“I don’t know anything,” Kat Graham laughs when we bugged her for info. We didn’t believe her, so we threatened her. OK, we didn’t do that, but she did give up a bit of scoop. “I do know that Bonnie’s going to have to deal at some point with Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) new ability to see his ex-girlfriends, who are deceased because he now can see the other side. So we’ll see how she deals with that. And other than that it’s just going with the flow and seeing where they take it. As of right now in the show, where it left off in the finale, Stefan (Paul Wesley) went with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and is on this crazy feeding rampage and all that. So we have to figure out how to get him back.” Here’s a thought: Elena. Naked. Couldn’t hurt.

Jessie in Smithtown, N.Y.: What’s the deal with Alaric this season on TVD?!

Booze! Gilbert children! Stefan! Too vague? OK, fine. Kevin Williamson tells us, “Alaric (Matthew Davis) will wrestle with the death of Jenna (Sara Canning) because that’s going to weigh on him a little bit. We’re going to see how he mans up with regard to how he can be there for Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Jeremy in sort of the family unit, which we hinted at in the finale. We’re also going to see him get right in the middle of trying to help save Stefan.” So rest easy Ric fans, your man will have plenty to do in season three. “He’s going to step forward and get right into the middle of everything.”

Via TV Guide:

Got any scoop on the new season of Vampire Diaries? — Amy

NATALIE: It may be a supernatural show, but executive producer Kevin Williamson says the story is and always will be about family. “We’re going to dive more into the relationship [between] Damon and Stefan,” he says. “You’re going to see them confront each other.” Plus, there’s that pesky family of original vampires whose diluted lineage will cause a lot of trouble for the Salvatore brothers. “This year, with the original family afoot, it’s going to be about the hybrid and about Klaus and what he’s up to, because he’s the bastard child of the original family. We’ll see his agenda and how Stefan plays into it.”

via E! Online:

@Katemadeleine: Caroline and Tyler are the best characters on TVD. I neeeeeeeed to know what that one second clip in the promo was about?

Let’s just say a green little monster whose name rhymes with Melousy becomes Caroline’s (Candice Accola) friend when she sees Tyler (Michael Trevino) dancing with another girl at Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) party. Looking ahead, their Romeo and Juliet-esque relationship takes a truly Shakespearean turn when someone we know—and kind of trust—aims to hurt our favorite blonde.

Adrian in Philadelphia, Pa: Did you see this tweet from Kevin Williamson? It says Stefan, or Paul Wesley, is “out of control” on Vampire Dairies. You have to know something about that…now spill!

We might know something. But guess who knows more? Paul. “We’re going to open up [season three] with Stefan in the middle of almost losing it,” he tell us. “And we get to watch the development of that as the season progresses. We see him slowly losing himself.” How bad is he losing himself? “Clockwork Orange style,” Paul says forebodingly. “[He's] a freaking nut-bag.”

Jody in Crown Point, Ind.: Anything TVD or about my favorite baddie, Klaus!

Joseph Morgan told us that Klaus and Stefan are just having a splendid time together. “[They're] out having fun, painting the town red,” he says. “Going dancing. Shopping. Going to garden centers. Picking out curtains. Trying out couches. Just trying to get to know each other.” Oh, how we wish he wasn’t kidding about all that. Best bromance ever. But seriously, Stefan and Klaus are up to absolutely no good. “They’ve been on a killing binge, quite frankly. Just wreaking havoc. I’ve been slowly trying to corrupt him and bring him back to the dark side,” he tells us. Since the season premiere takes place months after the season two finale, will viewers ever see what happened in the days we passed over? “I’m not sure if we’re going to flash back to that period, but [the killing] certainly hasn’t stopped,” Joseph assures us. “Things are only going to escalate from here, so we’re going to see how far these guys are willing to go. And Klaus is willing to go as far as it takes.”

Spoilers via EW:

‘VAMPIRE DIARIES’: EP TEASES MATT’S PAINFUL ROAD AHEAD

We wouldn’t wish suffering on anyone… except for maybe The Vampire Diaries’ Matt Donovan. But that’s only because actor Zach Roerig guts us when he gets teary. TVD exec producer Julie Plec almost got our eyes wet describing how Matt will figure into the season 3 story line that has Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) seeing the ghosts of his dead exes — including Matt’s late sister Vicki (Kayla Ewell).

“Matt is one of the first people to learn Jeremy’s secret, and one of the loves of Jeremy’s life visiting him from beyond the grave is Matt’s sister Vicki, who he never really had complete closure with,” she says. “So he is gonna have, with Jeremy, an emotional journey in this supernatural world as he learns that his sister’s out there and contactable and tries to convince Jeremy to help him get the closure that he’s needed.” (Pause as we “Ahhh” and describe how much we love hurt, confused Matt.) “Yeah, it’s good,” Plec promises.

TVD EP Kevin Williamson has said we’ll get the “climax of the haunting of Jeremy” in October. Plec continued the tease thusly: “We’re gonna have some fun with Vicki and Anna and start to really reveal the secrets of why they’re here, what they want, and who else they have access to from our past.” — Mandi Bierly

Will Damon and Elena go on the hunt to find Stefan on Vampire Diaries? —Sarah
NATALIE:
They will both attempt to find him, but one is certainly trying harder than the other. “Damon loves his brother, he can’t deny that anymore, but at the same time, his relationship is building with Elena in a very nice way, so that maybe he’s not trying as hard as he should to find Stefan,” executive producer Kevin Williamson tells us, adding that Damon will feel guilt over that. As for Stefan, the ripper lifestyle will lend for some serious life contemplation on his part. “Will he ever be able to come back and how will Stefan and Elena save him if they do? It’s really going to be about the journey for Stefan: What’s Klaus up to? What’s Klaus’ use for him? It twists and turns in a bunch of different ways that are surprising.”

Spoilers via E! Online:

firingaway: Any Damon and Elena news you can share with us?
Just because Stefan (Paul Wesley) is currently out of the picture doesn’t mean that Elena (Nina Dobrev) is just going to fall into the arms (or bed) of Damon (Ian Somerhalder). However, Damon and Elena will be teaming up in a different way. “They are joining forces to try and find Stefan to make sure that he’s OK,” Dobrev tells us. Will the time apart help or hinder the bond of Stelena? Only time (and more episodes) will tell. “It’s going to be one of those situations [where] either absence makes the heart grow fonder or out of sight, out of mind. So, it’s going to be interesting to see.”
Candice Accola, Michael Trevino, The Vampire Diaries Bob Mahoney/The CW

Angela_Rocca: Something about Tyler and Caroline on Vampire Diaries, please!

You’ve heard Kevin Williamson comparing Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Caroline (Candice Accola) to Romeo and Juliet, yes? We brought that up to Candice recently, who had this to say: “That makes me a little bit nervous! But it’s still early on. We have a lot of new characters coming on, and hopefully they’ll have a more positive ending than Romeo and Juliet.” Yeah, let’s hope you don’t both end up dead. Let’s shoot for that for now. But does she mean those new characters might be sweeping Caroline off her stilettos?

Question: I could use some Vampire Diaries scoop. —Jake

Ausiello: Jeremy won’t be the only one affected by Vicki’s “return” from the dead. “Matt is struggling with the lingering [supernatural] element in his dead sister, who’s popping up to Jeremy,” says exec producer Julie Plec. “We’ll get to see Matt struggle with, ‘My dead sister is paying visits to my ex-girlfriend’s brother, who used to sleep with my dead sister.’” Meh. Been there, done that.
