The Sentinel has an interview with Paul Wesley. You can read the entire interview here.
Here is an excerpt from the interview:
When asked what he loves most about his profession, the actor said, “The same thing that makes me nervous, which is never knowing what will happen next. That’s what I love about it. I never know what character I’m going to play next, I never know what location I’ll be in next. With each new character, I find something new about myself that I didn’t know before.”
CanMag has an interview with Ian Somerhalder. You can read the interview at CanMag.
Here is an excerpt from the interview:
He’s angry,” Somerhalder said. “He feels like he’s been wronged, very badly, and he wants vengeance and redemption. However, he is lonely. He’s the most lonely person I’ve ever known. Imagine being 170 years old. However old you are, at this point in time, imagine thinking about how much you know about life and quadrupling that, and seeing all the people you’ve ever known die around you. That probably makes you very cynical and lonely.”
E! had a little scoop on the Vampire Diaries differences between the book and the shows.
Here is what they had to say:
Courtney in Tucson, Ariz.: I just started reading The Vampire Diaries, and oh my goodness they are fantastic! Do you have any idea on how closely the new TV series will follow these wonderful books?
You’ll see a number of differences right off the bat in the first ep. First, Elena’s very young sister has been replaced by a troubled teen brother, and the siblings are returning to high school several months (as opposed to several years in the book) after their parents’ deaths. TV Elena is the virtual opposite of book Elena: the blue-eyed blonde is now a Bella-like brunette. As for the vampires, instead of his romantic rooftop boarding-house quarters, Stefan lives with an “uncle” (another nonexistent character in the first novel)—but Damon is definitely eee-vil, beginning with the gruesome opening scene. Other characters and relationships have been slightly tweaked as well—for better or worse? We’re dying to hear what you think, so be sure to let us know after the Sept. 10 premiere!
Starpulse has an interview with creator Kevin Williamson of the Vampire Diaries. He says he is excited about the show.

Here is an excerpt from the interview:
“The town wakes up to [the vampires] relatively quick and tries to do something about it,” Williamson said. “We don’t know exactly who is it in the town, who are these people that figure it out. We have a character coming in, in a couple of episodes that is another series regular that steps in and he comes with an agenda.”
