Question: Anything else you can share about this week’s Vampire Diaries? It looks epic. —Brad
Ausiello: Klaus compels Stefan to completely shut off his emotions, thus paving the way for him to become an official baddie. That’s one of, like, four big twists in the episode, so fasten your seat belts.
Question: I wonder if you have any news on The Secret Circle, Glee, The Vampire Diaries or Nikita? —Luana
Ausiello: Eenie, meenie, miney… Vampire Diaries! Look for Matt’s issues with the supernatural world to come to a head in Episode 5, per exec producer Julie Plec. “It’s set the weekend before senior year begins and it’s senior prank night,” she previews. “And of course, things go horribly wrong. For Matt, specifically, it’s kind of bittersweet because there’s a sense of the life he’s lost over the two seasons of our show and it’s really hurting him. We get to explore that in a beautiful and tragic way.” Plec also confirms that “Matt’s gotta get laid this year. He just needs that. He needs love.”

Will Elena ever admit to the chemistry she and Damon share on The Vampire Diaries? — Laura
NATALIE: She may not, but her friends will certainly catch on to their budding passions. In fact, executive producer Julie Plec says that the big “elephant in the room” hasn’t gone unnoticed and soon enough, “her friends and loved ones are going to be like, ‘What’s going on there?’”

@mannionh: Tyler and Caroline on The Vampire Diaries please??
We know a vampire and werewolf hooking up is what created Klaus (Joseph Morgan), eventual hybrid extraordinaire. We also know vamp Caroline (Candice Accola) and wolf Tyler (Michael Trevino) recently hooked up, so where does that leave our favorite TVD couple? “We’ve said two things on our show, very clearly. Vampires can’t procreate and yet, vampires’ bodies work like anybody else’s,” Julie says. “Door’s open to take either rule.”
@xMelissaR04: VAMPIRE DIARIES PLEASEEE! After last weeks episode im DYING!!
You and us both, sister. Guess what? It gets even better as a fan favorite (and our personal favorite) is set to return. “Right now, we’re about to start shooting an episode that takes us back to the origins story of the Original family,” Julie Plec says. “We will see Elijah (Daniel Gillies) again.” Wheeeee! While we probably won’t meet all the Originals, the show is reportedly looking to introduce the Original mommy. Double wheeeee!

Question: Any inside gossip on The Vampire Diaries? —Bridii
Ausiello: Rumor has it the Oct. 13 episode, “The Reckoning,” is going to be E-P-I-C. Basically, Klaus goes totally off the rails and no one is safe — especially not Elena, Stefan and Tyler.
Question: Any Vampire Diaries scoop concerning Caroline? —Jo
Ausiello: Dying to see Caroline kick Damon’s ass? Then this Thursday’s episode is for you!

What’s coming up for the Originals on Vampire Diaries? — Thomas
NATALIE: Very soon we’ll meet Esther, the mother of the Original family, via 1,000-plus-year-old flashbacks. She’s as strong and as fierce as Klaus, but she’s more into protecting her family than packing them away in coffins.

Yessica: When will Stefan be back on The Vampire Diaries?
I’m hearing halfway through the season. That too soon? Too late? Which way y’all shipping now? In other news, make sure you caught our story that Nina Dobrev is OK after suffering what she called a “concussion” on the set.

Sandra, you enjoy well-dressed men as much as I do. What did you think of the pictures of Stefan dressed in ’20s gear? Wowza!! What can you tell me about the ep? — Jessica
According to Nina Dobrev, next week’s flashback-heavy Vampire Diaries episode is “almost like a movie” and sure to top the fans’ favorite episodes. “We’re introduced to a couple of new characters and there are huge surprises and a cliffhanger of sorts,” she says. “You learn a lot of information and is very visually stimulating. I think people are going to go crazy for this one.”

How will Jeremy deal with this whole seeing-dead-girlfriends thing on The Vampire Diaries? — Grace
NATALIE: Jeremy’s newfound skill may actually offer him some hope. “He’s lost everyone he’s loved and it’s been a great weight on his shoulder, so possibly having some connection with the dead lifts a weight off his shoulder and adds more of a level of curiosity rather than fear,” Steven R. McQueen tells us. But how will Bonnie react to this spectral infidelity? “At the end of the day, they really care about each other,” he says. Meanwhile, Jeremy will form a stronger bond with Matt, who also starts seeing dead people!

The Vampire Diaries absolutely rocked my world last night! PLEASE, I need some Stefan/Elena scoop. That phone call! How much longer are they going to be apart?! — Erika
First, do NOT get me started on that phone call. Absolutely devastating. Now, for the possibly upsetting news, it sounds like they might be apart for a while. Paul Wesley opened up about it all at the CW premiere party this weekend, saying “I hate to be cheesy, but on a symbolic level, he’s really apart from everybody. He’s physically apart for a while, in a different location, but he’s in a completely different space,” he says. “He and Elena were just not what they were. It could go on indefinitely, man, for sure.” But will there come a point where he forgets about Elena? “I think at a certain point, he thinks he has. Whether or not he truly has is left to be seen to me. I think he thinks he has to because he forces himself to [forget her], and circumstances force it, too. Genuinely, they force him to.”
Anything on Vampire Diaries would make my morning!! PLEASE! — Dani
Paul Wesley can’t wait for you to see an upcoming episode that “shows a side of Stefan that we haven’t seen before.” “I think it was probably the most fun I had shooting Vampire Diaries period, in any episode,” he said. “It’s a scene where I’m basically saying goodbye to my old self.”

3. Vampire Diaries’ Damon and Elena:
After Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena’s big fight in the season premiere, you’d think a romance would be out of the question. Au contraire, says Nina Dobrev! “Elena is really angry with Damon right now, but he won’t allow her to be angry with him for very long. He will make sure to get in her good graces.”

ChicaNikkil49: I’m like a vampire without blood when I’m not getting any Katherine Pierce scoop from TVD. Can you help me, please?
Kevin Williamson tells us, “Katherine (Nina Dobrev) doesn’t pop up right away. She hauled ass.” However, Katherine won’t stay gone for long. “Katherine is too delicious to go too long without seeing.” So what can we expect from our resident evil vampy vampire who only loves herself? Let’s just say that when one of the brothers is away, Katherine will play. We know, can we vague that up for ya? But you’ll take what we give you and you’ll like it! (Or just send us angry tweets. Whichever you prefer.)
Sunchick116: Any good Stefan/Elena info at all? Or should we just prepare to cry ourselves to sleep the whole season?
Apologies to your tear ducts, but like we said last week Stefan (Paul Wesley) is gone for the first half or so of the season, so we don’t think that bodes well for The Vampire Diaries’ longstanding couple. As for the show’s not-really-a-couple-but-basically-a-couple, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena, I’m hearing he’s going to be giving her the Big U soon. The Big U being an ultimatum, obviously.
TooCool_2012: Vampire Diaries scoop please! Will ghost Vickie & ghost Anna be affecting Jeremy & Bonnie’s relationship? I hope not.
Good question. In fact, we asked the same thing when we ran into Kat Graham at the CW party. And by “ran into,” we mean she was on the carpet and we had a camera and, well, you know how interviews go. Anyway, she told us that Bonnie will be both helping Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) with his little issue and struggling with it. “They’re definitely trying to explore all sides of it: her being a compassionate person that the character is. And then the explorations of just natural female jealousy,” Graham says. “Like, ‘Why are you talking to your ex?’ They’re not even his ex-girlfriends! They died—even worse!” Bumpy road ahead for those two, eh?
