No, S stands for Stefan and D for Damon on the rings. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. They cannot wear and be protected by each other’s rings. Each ring was made specifically for the one person to wear. That’s why Damon was so upset when Stefan took his ring early in the season and buried it somewhere and he was trapped in the house during the day. They may have taken Stefan’s ring in order to keep him from leaving the house when they have to be away during the day. They’re doing an intervention on Stefan.

It looks like Damon is the one taking the ring off because of the black sleeves, but he wears his ring on the other hand right?

yeah damon is taking his ogg but if you look closely when its just sitting on something, the letter in the middle looks like an S.
