As Vicki’s (Kayla Ewell) behavior becomes more dangerous, Stefan (Paul Wesley) tries to help her. Elena (Nina Dobrev) tries to convince Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to stay away from Vicki. Caroline (Candice Accola) gives Bonnie (Katerina Graham) a necklace she took from Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to wear with her Halloween costume, and when Damon tries to take it back, he is surprised by Bonnie’s abilities. Bonnie discusses the incident with Grams (guest star Jasmine Guy) and learns more about her family’s past. Trying to cheer Vicki up, Matt (Zach Roerig) takes her to the high school’s haunted house, but the evening soon takes a terrifying turn.
FanCast has an interview with Kayla Ewell. She talks about her character the show and cast mates. It’s a fun little interview. Like everyone else I think she has a little crush on Ian LOL!!! I know I do that boy is gorgeous!!!
Here is an excerpt: You seem to be having a lot of fun with Vicki.
When I first saw the script I said, “I want to be Vicki,” and my agents were like, “Are you sure you don’t want one of the other roles?” I said, “No, I want to be Vicki” – and ever since I got it it’s been a whirlwind experience. And then when [showrunner] Kevin [Williamson] called me and said, “You’re going to be a vampire”? Oh my God. I’ve never had the opportunity to play an animalistic character before.
How does one properly prepare to dance around a house half-naked with Ian Somerhalder?
[Laughs] By of course dancing around the house naked! No, I usually would have been so nervous about a scene like that, but Ian is so gorgeous and sweet and open, he makes you feel good about yourself. I respect him as an actor, I think he’s so good. I was a big ‘Lost’ fan, and when Boone died I was so disappointed!
So the fact that Ian has, like, “8-pack” abs is simply icing on the cake.
God…. When he arrives on the set in the morning, we’re like, “Dude, you’re not allowed to wake up that pretty in the morning.” He has naturally flushed cheeks and his eyelashes are all dark and those blue eyes….
“There’s actually so many surprises, and it [something] is very much a shocker to audiences,” star Paul Wesley (Stefan) told us during a break on set. “It’s a sort of brutal-and-violent-and-sudden-and-out-of-nowhere-something that happens, and I think people will be very shocked and confused. Blindsided I should say.”
“The Halloween stuff is crazy!” Nina Dobrev (Elena) adds. “People are going to be shocked. They’re going to be really surprised at how quickly and how many risks we take. We’re not playing it safe.”
So what goes down?
“Unfortunately, we can’t really talk about it because there’s so much going on,” Ian Somerhalder (Damon) told us. Ditto that for every single castmember because it’s that good. Hmph.
The girls of the show — Nina, Kat, Kayla Ewell (Vicki), Candice Accola (Caroline), and Sara Canning (Jenna) — regularly have sleepovers at Nina and Kayla’s house. On a rainy Thursday two weeks ago, the cast gathered in Kat’s trailer to watch the show. “We all got food from catering and watch it in my room. It was pouring rain and my room is the only one that really got reception. So we were all sitting there, about six or seven people, watching it.
