* Editor B: Elena and Stefan make a cute pair, but Elena and Damon really sizzle. Damon gets under her skin and brings out her firecracker side. Plus, Damon can keep her on her toes — and that’s what makes for great television. We may always root for Elena to end up with the nice guy, but she and Damon have way hotter chemistry, which will give the show a big boost.
* Editor S Counterpoint: It’s way too soon! The show is only in its first season, so it would be TV shark-jumping suicide if the writers let Damon and Elena get together now. Maybe in two, three seasons from now they can consummate that tension, but for now, they need to keep building up this foundation.

I would like to see them together, but not this early in the series. Maybe like season three or something? And a few stolen kisses in season 2? lol xD

i do think that Damon and Elena should stay together because they complete each other she bings out the sweet side of him and he brings out the boldness and fun and dangerous side of her and makes her feel good and not in secret mode and tension all the time. plus sparks are flying and we can all see that and yes he has this thing for katherine but he knows elena is different from her in many ways and yet he falls for her. and ofcourse this will bring outrageous ratings for the show and yeah i would like to see more closeness of Damon and Elena a kiss or two or maybe even more but not know maybe season 3 with some more hints in 2. stephan is okay but not right for her.

Elena and Stephan just works, honestly I don’t see Damon and her together, it just doesn’t work. Who want’s sizzle when you can have neverending love. I wouldn’t date Damon just because hes sexy. Plus if Damon and Elena get together would it ever be possible for Stephan
to take her back. Plus Stephan is just hotter to me, no lie.
